Permits & Licenses
The City of La Demo requires permits for most construction, renovation, and business activities to ensure compliance with building codes, fire safety standards, and zoning regulations. The Permits office, located on the second floor of City Hall, processes applications Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
Building Permits
All construction projects within La Demo city limits require a building permit (sometimes referred to as a construction license). This includes new construction, additions, structural modifications, electrical work, plumbing, and mechanical installations. Permits are also required for fences over 6 feet, swimming pools, and demolition.
How to Apply
- Review the zoning requirements for your property
- Download and complete the appropriate permit application (PDF)
- Submit plans, site diagram, and application to the Permits office with the filing fee
- Allow 10 business days for plan review (expedited review available for additional fee)
- Schedule inspections at each required stage of construction
