Planning & Zoning Department
The Planning & Zoning Department guides the physical development of La Demo through comprehensive land use planning, zoning administration, subdivision review, and code enforcement. The department works closely with the Planning Commission, an advisory board of seven citizen members appointed by the City Council.
The department reviews all development applications including site plans, subdivision plats, rezoning requests, conditional use permits, and variances. Pre-application consultations are available and recommended for complex projects.
Zoning Information
La Demo's zoning ordinance divides the city into residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use districts. Before purchasing property or starting a business, verify the zoning designation of your site to ensure your intended use is permitted. The zoning map and full ordinance text are available at City Hall or by contacting the Planning office.
