About the La Demo Fire Department
The La Demo Fire Department (FD) provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and technical rescue from three strategically located stations. Our 60 professional firefighters and paramedics are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with an average emergency response time of 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
The department holds an ISO Class 2 rating, placing it among the top 3% of fire departments nationally. This rating directly benefits La Demo property owners through lower insurance premiums. Chief Thomas Washington oversees department operations with a focus on fire prevention, community education, and continuous improvement of emergency response capabilities.
