About the Department of Public Works

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and operation of La Demo's critical infrastructure, including 185 miles of streets, 42 bridges, the water treatment plant, wastewater treatment facility, and all city-owned buildings and facilities. The department employs 120 workers across five divisions.

DPW maintains a 24-hour emergency hotline for water main breaks, sewer backups, and hazardous road conditions. Call (555) 867-5309 ext. 400 to report an issue or request service.

Roads & Bridges

Street resurfacing, pothole repair, snow plowing, bridge inspections, and traffic signal maintenance.

Water & Sewer

Water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, hydrant maintenance.

Fleet Management

Maintains 200+ city vehicles and pieces of heavy equipment for all departments.

To report potholes, water leaks, damaged signs, or other infrastructure issues, call (555) 867-5309 ext. 400 or submit a request online. Emergency issues (water main breaks, downed power lines, road hazards) should be reported immediately by calling the main line.
