Your City Government
The City of La Demo operates under a Council-Manager form of government, as established by the City Charter adopted in 1952. The seven-member City Council serves as the legislative body, setting policy and approving the annual budget. The City Manager, appointed by the Council, oversees day-to-day operations of 13 departments and more than 850 full-time employees.
City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the City Hall Auditorium, 413 Magnolia Boulevard. All meetings are open to the public, and a public comment period is provided at the beginning of each regular session. Meeting agendas are published at least 72 hours in advance on our Agendas & Minutes page.
